I remember in my mid thirties there was a massive smog alert in London, where I was residing at the time. At the same time, a classic London fog enveloped the city. It was quite dark, and provided an eerie night-like surrounding. At around noon I sat in my office on lunch break and gazed up into the sky. A slight break of light came through and the sun, weak, would glimmer on the ceiling like a full moon. Even in these dark moments, could the light have some power. That this darkness was never eternal. I kept these thoughts with me throughout my life, always whenever I was in distress.
