For a brief moment in my life I entered into the jewelry business. I took a trip one day to Afghanistan to visit some Lapis Lazuli mines. We traveled 2 days towards the location on horseback, and then continued upwards on a mountain on foot. A constant shift between hot and cold. My associate one morning made some breakfast of a french press coffee and pan fried pita bread with some kind of sauce, not like hummus, but darker and I am not so sure of the name. We talk at sunrise, he had been in the industry some 20 years. He tells me that digging for precious stones is much like any facet of life. He tells me you can't be quick to change course when you find a place to dig. You dig until you get what you are looking for. He tells me he had a golden rule of digging for 72 days until he changed course. I asked if that was because he was Muslim, to which he scoffed at me saying he wasn't a child. I asked why he chose the number 72. He told me he didn't know why, but it felt like a solid number.

The sort of music that is beyond time. The sort of music that you feel more than you hear. I love the fact that vaporwave/dreampunk projects like these have such extremely evocative aesthetics they directly fill your mind with sensations you didn't know you had. You'd maybe think it relies on that solely, but it's coupled with gorgeous musicianship + intense production ideas. The volume and spaces it creates just pull you in instantly whatever your initial mood was. Still stunning to this day. SUPRAQUENCER
